This adventure is perfect for a first hike. Azure blue skies on your right and left you walk along the looming dense forests of chestnut, deodar and sycamore, the climb is gentle gradient. The trek moves largely in the Supin River Valley, upper catchment area of the Tons. Open meadows in the middle of the forests beckon you to camp, and the whole area is teeming with birdlife, parakeets, cuckoos owls, minivets, bulbuls, tits and thrushes. The area falls within the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, home to 11mammals and 150 bird species.

The upper reaches have been declared a National Park for the protection of the elusive snow leopards, and gives a superb view of the Jaundar Glacier and surrounding peaks.
